Natural Remedies. Beautiful Skin.

I have been a long time fan of Michelle Phan. She is truly gifted when it comes to skin care knowledge and make up artistry. In the past, she has done amazing videos on skin care using natural and inexpensive products that we all probably have sitting at home somewhere. I've posted some of the videos here.

Lady GaGa

Weirdo or Fashionista? Inspiration or Fashion Disaster?

There is no doubt that 23 year old Lady GaGa, aka Stefani Germanotta, has had one hell of a year. Her record sales over the past two years speak volumes about her quick rise to international fame. In addition to her music, she is known for eccentric performances and a crazy fashion sense. With each appearance, she boldly makes her presence known. Some would call her a trend setter while others would simply say she is weird and that her outrageous costumes create a persona... a long lasting publicity stunt more or less. One thing that I think we can all agree on is the fact that she isn't afraid to be unconventional.

After all, what is fashion anyway? What is style? It is a form of expression, an art form that is your own. So who am I, or anyone else, to call Lady GaGa weird or crazy for her choice of outfits. It just wouldn't be logical because "normalcy," especially in the world of fashion, doesn't exist. You should dress in a way that represents you: your feelings, your mood, your values etc. Your clothes are your brushes, different styles being your paint, your body is your canvas and the world, your personal museum. Art.

Take notes from Lady GaGa, and dare to be your own person : )

Masculine is sexy.

"I always wanted to live a man's life in a woman's body."
-- DVF

A new trend this year: women going more masculine (as far as their clothes are concerned...). I love this look! I think it is super sexy... And, it gives us an excuse to be a little more comfortable when we're dressing up or dressing down. Pictured above is Victoria Beckham's "boyfriend pant" and below, a look worn by Chanel Iman, designed by Ralph Lauren. What do you think?

What NOT to Wear... Anymore.

THE LIST OF FASHION DON'TS...
(pics/videos coming soon)

Spotted: people who don't know what the word "unique" means... Here are a list of fashion combos that I've been seeing waaayyy too much of. I've also asked my readers what fashion trends they would like to see R.I.P. Here's the list... And take notes please. Yes, I'm talking to you.Bold

  • UGGS and Leggings (coupled with any of the following: oversized sweatshirts, flannel shirts, or button-ups. also, uggs and miniskirts are unacceptable as well, no matter the season)

  • SUPER Skinny jeans/pants on boys: Men, there is a difference between fitted jeans and your sister's pair of skinny jeans. I think that jeans that are too tight should be worn by girls. Let's face it, we look better in super tight jeans : ) AND... I am so over seeing boys wearing skinny/fitted jeans and letting them sag... What's the point in getting jeans that are fitted if you are going to have them hanging off your butt? hmmm...

  • Too Much Layering: Layering is fun, especially in the winter and can be very stylish. EXCEPT, when you take it too far. Too many layers is distracting. Pick 2 - 3. Don't go overboard. (And please, not TOO many different prints)

new heels!!

My latest pair of
shoedazzle shoes!

Can't wait to get them

52nd Annual Grammy Awards

And the winners (for best dressed) are...

Last night's Grammy's were entertaining, as far as the music is concerned. However, I wasn't completely blown away by many of the outfit choices (sans Lady GaGa of course, as per usual). There were a select few that I absolutely loved while there were several others that were just okay. And of course, some celebrities either did TOO much, or not enough. Below are a list of my faves... in no particular order.

(comment, and let me know which outfit choices you loved and hated)

Jennifer Hudson in Victoris Beckham... maybe not grand enough for the Grammy's but definitely a great outfit!

J.Lo. in Versace, heels by Christian Louboutin. Very, very sexy. (And her hair and makeup are great too!) Maybe a little inappropriate for the Grammy's though...

Kaley Cuoco in Nicole Miller... My absolute favorite of the night!!!! Gorgeous!

Keri Hilson in Dolce and Gabbana

Rihanna in Elie Saab Haute Coutoure. This whimsical dress was definitely a relief for us all, considering that Rihanna has shown us her "dark side" over the last several months. Very flowly yet fitting and ultra classy.

Usher in Emporio Armani. Tailored and sleek. Checkered shirt with a champagne suit, nice combo.
