REVIEWS:

liiv botanicals Vital Night Moisturizer:

"I recently started using this, and I am in love. I have skin that breaks out at a moment's notice if a product doesn't make it happy. This moisturizer makes my skin very happy. I have found that a little goes a long way to keep from getting the sticky feeling, which I disliked at first. It hydrates my skin well, absorbs well, and has a light scent that is actually pretty soothing as you drift off to sleep. I now use the entire Liiv line, and people suddenly have noticed how "well rested" and "flawless" my skin looks. This one is definitely a mainstay now in my routine."

liiv botanicals Revitalizing Body Scrub:

"Has a great smell and does a wonderful job exfoliating. My skin always feels soft and smooth after using it. It's perfect for getting rid of those dry spots during the winter!"

liiv botanicals Naturally Glossy Lip Conditioner:

"I purchased this product based on the reviews. It is amazing! It is not sticky and can be used so many different ways. My favorite is to use after applying lip liner or blotting lip stick. It gives a beautiful sheen to your lips. It penetrates and moisturizes my lips. It is addicting."

Make- Up Must Haves!

(1) Moisturizer: After cleaning and drying your face, this is your first step. A good facial moisturizer is not only great for soft and even skin, it is key for flawless makeup.

(2) Primer: These come in different forms (spritz, lotions/moisturizers, etc.). Primers, along with your moisturizer, help your make-up stick so you won't have to constantly reapply during the day.

(3) Concealer: This is definitely a must have! Concealer is used to cover pimples, blemishes, freckles, or any other unwanted discoloration. It also helps to brighten up dark circles under your eyes, making you look like you've gotten 9 hours of sleep when you may have only had 3 or 4. Concealer should be one-two shades lighter than your actual skin tone.

(4) Foundation: Why this step in makeup application is essential doesn't really need an explanation. Though, you should be aware of the many different types of foundations. Here are a few:

  • moussed or whipped foundation: very light because of its air whipped properties (but possibly more expensive)
  • liquid: this will give you the most coverage and goes on very smoothly
  • cream-to-powder: applied as a liquid but once dried appears as a powder to reduce the appearance of oil
  • mineral: foundation that is actually benefits your skin while you're wearing it, but it doesn't give as much coverage as heavier foundations will
(5) Fixer: the finishing touch... Powder fixers or mists are used to "set" your makeup and can be applied after your foundation (or blush if you're wearing it)

futuristic and flyyy.

I just came across these shades (thanks to twitter). They are different and extremely versatile. Not to mention, they have been worn by stars like Nicki Minaj, Ciara, Kelly Rowland, Tila Tequila, and Ashanti, just to name a few. Stay tuned for their Fall 2010 collection!

I'm ordering my first pair now : )

Does Quick Trim Really Work??

Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE Kim Kardashian. I watch the reality show, read her blog postings, and shop on her ebay store. I even have her as my wallpaper on my phone... TMI??

As much as I love supporting her, I don't know if I can support her Quick Trim endorsement. Does this stuff actually work? And more importantly, is it safe? Quick Trim is a line of 4 products that supposedly works to cleanse and detoxify your body in addition to increasing the rate at which you burn fat. It even claims to reduce cellulite as a spot treatment. The products include:
  • Fast Cleanse: "48-hour Super Diet Detox" designed to "help you drop a dress size for a special occasion." hmmm....
  • Burn and Cleanse: 14-day Diet System: contains a "thermogenic complex," consisting of a total of 400 milligrams of caffeine, equivalent to four cups of coffee (yikes!!) This is what speeds up your metabolism making it easier to burn fat
  • Iso-Flush: this is a supplement taken along with the Burn & Cleanse system and is made up of a variety of herbal diuretics that help to shed water from the body
  • Extreme Burn: long term supplements
I am always weary of any dieting products that have the words "fast" or "quick" or any other related descriptions. To me there should be no such thing as dieting. People should make lifestyle changes, steadily making improvements towards a healthier and leaner body. And so what if it takes a year or two to get to the right weight?? If you loose weight to quick, the chances of packing the pounds right back on (and then some) are very high.

I suggest weight loss the old fashioned way:

EAT RIGHT  and
WORK OUT!!
